Founder, Squirkle Productions
Adi Pocha was born in 1962 in what was then Bombay. After schooling in St Xavier's High School he graduated with a BSc (Physics) from Wilson College. He dabbled in computers, flunked out of hotel management, decided against law, until finally he did the logical thing and got into advertising.
In 2000 he formally launched his production company Squirkle Productions. In 2001 he conceived, produced and directed his first short fiction feature "The Cello Player" which had the honour of being screened in the international section of the Mumbai International Film Festival.
In 2002 apart from running Squirkle Productions which now includes a shooting studio and editing facilities, he also found time to write a weekly column for the Indian Express. In 2003 he worked on 100 episodes of a children's programme, Shaka Laka Boom Boom.
In the last couple of years in addition to doing corporate films for clients such as Hindustan Unilever, GE, Microsoft and Mercedes Benz, he has also created ads for Emami Menthoplus (the Ravan campaign), Subway, Johns Hopkins, etc.
He has also been conducting workshops on Creative Ideation, Strategic Planning, Film Scripting and Film Production since 1987. And has conducted these sessions for a variety of domestic and international organisations like : Hindustan Unilever, Ad Club, Bates PanGulf (Dubai), Emaar (Dubai), Mastek, Viacom, Lintas, Ulka, etc.
